Mad for Mod, Past and Present

Mod, which began in England in the 1950's, that had it's peak only 10 years later is still seen in today's fashion. It was all about rebelling; girls were androgynous with their short hairstyles.  They wore men's clothing or pushed the limits in short mini skirts and huge fake eyelashes. Two women of the past mod subculture that captured the true essence of it were Twiggy and Edie Sedgwick.

They rocked short, blonde hair, black eyeliner, big lashes, over-the-top fashions, & free spirits.

Today's Mod, though somewhat toned down, is still present in fashion. Two of my favorite looks are from Agyness Deyn and Zooey Deschanel.  Agyness has the Mod hair and makeup down to a science and Zooey has the flirty vibe in her print mini skirts and with her big lashes enhancing her blue eyes.

Zetus Lapetus! We love neon.

The 80's are back! Don't be scared, hair krimping and leg warmers are still a thing of the past, but neon is all the rage this season. Speaking of neon and rage, let's not forget Ashley on St. Patty's Day this year in her neon green hat that literally says "RAGE" on it.

So whether it be apparel, accessories, or cosmetics, make sure you incorporate neon into your wardrobe. Please just don't wear it all at once.

Show Me Your Teeth

For the first time this year, we're pretty confident the warm weather is here to stay. What better way to celebrate than spending some of that hard-earned bar money on new accessories?! We love the chunky, bright styles this time of year but don't kill the trend. Showing your summer spirit in a more subtle way is sometimes better, simple SHARK TOOTH pieces are huge on our list of summer must-haves!

Oh, no he didn't...

When you catch a man staring at you from across the bar and find yourself wondering if your eyebrows are as perfectly tamed and arched as his...run, hide, and chug.

We appreciate that men like to keep themselves looking fresh, but by no means do we like when you look better than us. No, we don't want you to resemble Eugene Levy, but for the love of testosterone stay away from the wax! Pluck the unibrow, it only worked for Frida, trim those caterpillar brows here and there and you're good to go. Let's be honest, if you wax those bad boys you look borderline tranny (no offense to fabulous drag queens). Also, we don't want to find out about your best friends professional plucking skills by pulling a Joey Tribbiani and only being man enough to successfully wax one brow!

Men, do us all a favor and keep the serious man-scaping below the belt.

First Wino Report

We love wine. More importantly, we love cheap wine. We aren't talking about the typical boxed wine, but rather a surprisingly inexpensive, delightful wine. For our first wine review, coming at you for $9.99 a bottle is The Naked Grape Pinto Grigio. We stumbled upon it at the convenience store down the street and it was crisp, with aromas of pear and lemon. This wine could be nicely paired with a dinner of fish/chicken and fresh vegetables. This Pinto Grigio is perfect for a cool, summer night, or let's be honest, any night.

Instalove with Instagram

ADR Studio is developing the Instagram Socialmatic Camera, which will bring our favorite app to life. Although it is still only a concept, I am praying for this to become a reality.  Not only will we have the amazing, fun filters of Instagram, but also the "Instagratification" of a polaroid that we can hang on our refrigerators.
